Meet Lauren

Painter | Illustrator | Muralist

A woman smiling and standing in front of a wall with colorful paintings at an art exhibition.

Lauren Weed is an American-born artist currently based in the North Karelia region of Finland. Originally from the West Coast of the USA, she brings a vibrant, soulful touch to every brushstroke.

The daughter of a designer, Lauren grew up thumbing through her mother’s design theory books late at night. Though self-taught as an artist, she holds a degree in counseling psychology and is a certified birthworker—life paths that continue to inform her art with emotional depth and a reverence for human connection.

Her work is a celebration of color, community, and the quiet power of storytelling. From library designs and town murals to custom tattoos and portraits, Lauren creates art that lives where people gather and grow.

Painting of an elderly woman with white hair wearing a purple dress, sitting with a contemplative expression against a green background.

Whether painting walls or pages, she’s driven by a deep gratitude for art’s ability to connect us—to ourselves, to each other, and to the places we call home.
